The Iowa 1:1 Institute exists to:
  • Help the Midwest’s 1:1 districts learn from each other about innovative teaching, learning, and administrative practices that are occurring in their districts;
  • Build excitement and ‘buzz’ around 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in the Midwest; and
  • Help others who are interested in 1:1 computing learn more about how to get started and be successful.
The institute is open to anyone interested in 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in P-12 schools, whether they currently are working in such a program or just want to learn more.

I am a Google for Education Certified Trainer, Google For Education Level I/II Educator, and a National Board Certified Teacher. I have my masters degree in Library and Information Science, and I have worked as a reading teacher and teacher librarian over the past 12 years. I currently work in a role to organize and support our district's teacher leadership compensation system in Davenport Schools.

Currently, I serve in the role of a Lead Support Teacher for our Teacher Leadership System which involves supporting and leading our teacher leaders while they work to increase high quality instruction across our district.

I have a passion for collaboration, innovation, and productive work for educators and students. I have a long history of success with developing and leading face to face, online, and blended learning experiences for small to giant groups, and I love every minute of it!
